Anchor Text repeats, no longer good for SEO

SEO is a practice of building natural-looking links that are anything but natural! This is sometimes difficult for a newcomer to figure out as he/she is so excited to rank well for 1 keyword or phrase. It’s very important to keep your portfolio balanced. When looking at your link portfolio, be sure to have various types of links with various anchor text pointing to your site. For instance, if I were to build 100 links to my site for “Gym Membership”, then a penalty will likely result from Google. What’s the penalty? Well, the site will not rank well for anything and it can even be banned.

Link building is the foundation of all things SEO. In order to rank well you will have to build quality links from reputable, relevant sites and have a balanced link portfolio. To check your current portfolio I recommend using this tool: http://seopro.com.au/free-seo-tools/link-checker.
